The Power Of Writing When I entered this class I didn’t think that we would be discussing the concept of writing. In fact, I never thought the concept of writing was that complicated enough to be discussed in a classroom setting. However, as demonstrated throughout history different forms of communication, such as writing, have shaped and evolved human interaction and invoked societal change. For example, in Walter Ong’s essay, â€Å"Writing is a Technology that Restructures Thought,† Ong acknowledges that means of communication, such as the computer and pencil, have been in argument since Plato’s time (319). Consequently, I asked myself how something so simple has been taken for granted for so long. Compared to the computer, which I can type approximately 40 words a minute, writing in the natural setting seemed a lot harder than I thought it would be. For example, just finding a stone to write on took almost two hours. Ong describes the process of writing on the computer compared to on paper as, â€Å"because we have by today so deeply interiorized writing, made it so much a part of ourselves, as Plato’s age had not yet made it fully a part of itself, we find it difficult to consider writing to be a technology as we commonly assume printing and the computer to be.† (321) This assignment demonstrated not only how hard it is to physically write, but also to find the utensils in nature as did our ancestors. Dennis Baron described writing, with a pencil, as â€Å"The pencil may seem as a simple device in contrast to the computer, but although it has fewer parts, it too is an advanced technology.†(39) In addition, this assignment helped me to believe that writing is not only a technology but it is also a technology that is taken for granted. Baron also described writing as, â€Å"we have a way of getting so used to writing technologies that we come to think of them as a natural rather than technological. A crankshaft is responsible in conjunction with the piston rod for converting the linear movement of piston into rotary movement. In this paper we represent FEA analysis and topology optimization of 2 wheeler crankshaft. In this paper represents detail about the project. In this project, the crankshaft will be analyzed and suitable changes for weight optimization will be made in the crankshaft. The main objectives in this project are to analyze and find out the low stress regions on the crankshaft and try and reduce weight of the crankshaft by eliminating the low stress regions from the crankshaft. In the earlier days, there were street lights which were controlled manually, but the modern world is moving towards implementing traditional systems in Eco-friendly ways. The technology has advanced and it demands change, a change which brings efficiency in work. And in many cities, due to the manual controlling of street lights there is a lot of electricity wasted as the light are left without turning it off. Therefore, the wireless street lights controlling and monitoring system is developed to reduce the power consumption, for easy maintenance, for reducing CO emissions and for reducing the cost for maintenance. The objective is that, the various wireless street light controlling and monitoring systems for controlling and monitoring the status of street lights are summarized. Literature Review Smart Street Lighting Control and Monitoring System for Electrical Power Saving by Using VANE According to [1], the most of the countrys electricity is consumed in the street lighting. According to this research paper, it is considered that there is possibility that the electric power for the street lights can be reduced. The main idea is that the electricity can be reduced in the areas where there are no vehicles available during late nights. This is made possible to function automatically. And the aim is that when the sensor encounters the vehicles coming nearby then the lights are turned on automatically. To develop an automatically controlling and monitoring system for the street lights, it requires a system which can detect the vehicles, its speed and its location automatically. And, it is expected that this can save a lot of electric power in all the countries. It is also assumed to increase the shelf life of the lamps and continues the automatic controlling and monitoring with the help of the Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANET). Thus, this system identifies all the requi red quantities like the location of the vehicles, their presence and their speed. The infrastructure of VANET has the capacity to reduce the cost and increases the system's deployment process. The wireless Ad-Hoc networks offers security of wireless technologies based on the Wireless Ad-Hoc networks. The mobile computing devices and the wireless communications. The wireless communication helps to maximize the road safety, by exchanging the safety related information. The direct communication between vehicles using an Ad-Hoc network is referred to as inter-vehicle communication (IVC) or Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks (VANETs). This gives the benefit of communicating with the surrounding wireless transceiver and controller. The VANET structure contains Road-Side Unites (RSUs) network, which are the interconnected Wireless Access Point and the vehicles are considered as the mobile nodes. This interconnection allows the communication of vehicles at the same instance. LED Based Energy Efficient Wireless Street Light Control and Monitoring System As stated in [2], the renewable energy sources is used in the place of a typical power sources. This change focuses to take care of the environment. This research paper, talks about the use of the solar energy for the working units to control the street lighting system. The available wireless street lighting control systems in the market contains certain disadvantages, to rectify this problem the solar LED street lights are used. This promises greater efficiency when compared with the previously used systems. The (GPRS) General Packet Radio Service is utilised for transmitting the real time data of the street light. This also has the capacity to identify the faults in the system and can also contacts the control room to resolve the issues. Earlier, the solar lights systems were controlled using the traditional artificial inspection tour. This tour increase the work, due to which the maintenance is delayed. Thus, the management faced inconvenience situation. Hence, to create a convenient management, the research paper considers monitoring the function on time, and controlling is appropriately is required. And this is satisfied by the intelligent and energy efficient wireless street light controller and a monitoring system. This is available with a Radio frequency and GPRS. Additionally, even the use of electricity is saved with the use of solar energy. The advantage of solar light is that the amount of carbon dioxide emissions can be easily decreased. Intelligent Wireless Street Lighting System According to [3], the ZigBee-based wireless devices are used for wireless communication of the street lights. Various sensors are used for the controlling and maintenance management. The main aspect is that the transmission is carried out in term of point-by-point. The transmitters and receivers are used for this transmission process. Due the increasing carbon dioxide emission, this paper contains three solutions. The solutions are, use of recent technologies like the LED. The next solution is the most revolutionizing method, which uses the remote management system for the street light management. The GPRS transmission, power line carrier transmission or GSM is used for communication. The last solution is to make use of the renewable energy source such as the solar energy. The ZigBee protocol and the network sensors are utilised for management purpose. The three solutions ensures to save the electricity, reduces the harm of CO2. And offers an intelligent system for managing the stree t light systems. Conclusion The three research papers are reviewed and their purpose and use in the wireless street lighting controlling and monitoring system is reviewed. In the first paper, the VANET infrastructure is used for reducing the cost and efficiency of working in the automatic controlling and monitoring system of street lights. The second paper, uses solar LED Street light and the RF and the GPRS are a communication medium to transfer the real time data. Moreover the amount of carbon dioxide emission is reduced. Macbeth In William Shakespeare's Macbeth, the hero evolves tragically from ?valour's minion1? who saved his country from invaders, to a ?tyrant2?, who had children murdered to secure his power. By definition, a tragic hero, such as Macbeth, is ruined by a fatal flaw. It is not the heart of an evil man, but rather political ambition and misplaced confidence, combined with a weakness to manipulation, that fuel this weak character's demise. Initially, Macbeth does not harbour malevolent intentions. He is ?Belloma's bridegroom3?, a war hero viewed most admirably by his comrades and superiors. Loyal Macbeth lays his life on the line for his king and his country, hardly seeming like one who would commit regicide. In contrast to this display of fortitude, Macbeth exhibits weakness during his first encounter with the weird sisters. Greeting Macbeth as Thane of Cawdor and king, the witches spark his restless ambition. Unlike Banquo, who declares one who trusts such prophecy ?takes reason prisoner4?, Macbeth is tempted by their news, and begs to know more. Upon receiving the title Thane of Cawdor, Macbeth's impulsive side surfaces for the first time as he entertains thoughts ?whose murder is yet fantastical5?. However, he does not commit himself entirely to crime, hoping that ?chance may crown6? him. The witches are not the only ones from whom Macbeth draws confidence. Motivated to the point of summoning evil to help her execute the murder, Lady Macbeth seems to be more focused on the task than her husband. The two implicate themselves in a plot to murder Duncan. Knowing Macbeth is filled with ?milk of human kindness7?, she appeals to his sense of manliness to motivate him to go through with the deed. This painless manipulation on the part of Lady Macbeth further illustrates how weakened Macbeth is by his ambition. His desires are so uncontrollable that the slightest justification of an evil deed will drive him to do it. The ?sorry sight8? of bloody hands upon having murdered Duncan brings about the first hint of madness in Macbeth as his conscience grapples with his ruthlessness. This emotional vulnerability causes his craving for power to become insatiable. Acquiring a ?fruitless crown9? did not leave him completely satisfied; he wanted a line of kings. To beget fulfillment, Macbeth hires murderers to kill Banquo and his son Fleance. This murder is preceded by an act of manipulation of the recruited killers by Macbeth, who makes a veiled promise of favour to the two poor men. Exploiting their situation for the betterment of his, he is evolving from a selfless soldier to a greedy despot. Although he comes to manipulate humans, he loses control of his mind. Disaster falls upon Macbeth as he is overcome by ?saucy doubts and fears10?, which drive him to insanity before his banquet guests. Feelings of dignity and the effects of humiliation are now things of the past as Macbeth now knows only the sensations of hunger for power and fear of retribution. The notion that ?blood will have blood11? has become increasingly prevalent, surfacing in the forms of ghosts and floating daggers. Macbeth is being tortured by his conscience, leading to more restlessness. Macbeth's desperate need to see the weird sisters once more can be attributed to a fear of his fate. They lead Macbeth to believe that he is safe in his throne. All his confidence is placed in their prophecies, illustrating that his ambition would even sell his soul to misleading witches in return for cryptic reassurance. Macbeth is now consumed by his vaulting ambition, becoming even weaker on his quest for power. Towards the end of the play the well-respected warrior becomes the hated tyrant. Already having committed innumerable atrocities, he lowers himself further by having Macduff's innocent wife and children killed in their own home. His former colleagues feel their ?country sinks beneath the yoke12? with each passing day as a result of Macbeth's selfish leadership. They decide that ?Macbeth is ripe for shaking13?, planning to overthrow their former friend and king now that he is so emotionally unstable.
